Please contact Lanae Handy, Community Preservation Coordinator, lhandy@watertown-ma.gov before applying to schedule an appointment during CPA Clinic Hours listed below. Note that all application forms are online.
To apply, complete the Project Eligibility Form online by the deadline on July 27, 2026, to ensure your project is eligible under the CPA. The CPA application forms are on the OpenGov platform which requires you to register before beginning your application. This registration allows you to create a draft that you may return to complete and edit at your convenience before submission.
If your project is on city-owned land and you are not a city entity, you must consult with Kennan Rhyne, Director of Community Development and Planning and Assistant City Manager, to obtain the permission and support of the City as well as assistance with project coordination. Plan accordingly to meet deadline.
The Community Preservation Coordinator will notify you of eligibility. After notification, you may complete the online CPA Funding application. Before preparing your CPA Funding Application, thoroughly review the Submission Requirements Checklist to gather the required documents applicable to your project.
When submitting your application online, you may complete the application budget online or upload a spreadsheet. Please contact the Community Preservation Coordinator if you have any questions about the required attachments applicable to your application.
The Community Preservation Committee will use this Application Evaluation Matrix as a guide in its decision-making process.
